eSpares: the UK’s leading provider of spare parts and accessories for household appliances.
For four and a half years, I utilised my writing skill set at eSpares to help promote the brand, enhance engagement, and improve SEO across a multitude of channels. This included social media, WordPress, YouTube, emails, and more…
Organic Social
With a combined audience of over 60,000 followers on Instagram and Facebook, I take great pride in the copy I provided for eSpares’ social media posts and designs.
By promoting a can-do attitude through a direct-yet-positive tone of voice, I encouraged our customers to take home appliance repairs into their own hands - and cultivated their trust in our products to help them do so.
This included one-off social media posts and promotions, alongside writing consistent copy for months-long seasonal campaigns.
Emails
For the eSpares marketing emails, I provided all the required wording and rose to the challenge of continuously finding new, creative ways to keep and grow the interest of our 276,000 subscribers.
Be it through eye-catching subject lines, encouraging introductory copy, or informative product descriptions, my contributions played a huge role in increasing open rates, product click rates, and overall email revenue.

Videos (Scriptwriting)
Perhaps the strongest example of my adaptability and proficiency in clear communication was the work I provided for the eSpares YouTube channel, which has a growing audience of over 166,000 subscribers.
When writing scripts for step-by-step video repair guides, it was my responsibility to ensure the wording was clear and concise, helping viewers carry out home repairs that might otherwise be daunting or challenging with minimal difficulty.
Here, I also utilised my knowledge of SEO to write video scripts and descriptions that would improve our YouTube rankings and viewership. This SEO knowledge was also applied to the written versions of these repair tutorials on the online Advice Centre, which generated approximately £1,000,000 a year in revenue (4% of eSpares’ total annual revenue).
